Throughout the years we have built a number of studios for developing countries. In May, when we were asked to build another one for Bunia, Congo , we knew exactly what to do; build a compact studio with sturdy equipment that's easy to ship abroad. Additionally, the difficulty of the order increased due to the fact that it had to be shipped within FOUR WEEKS.
With all hands on deck, we worked on finding the right equipment that was in stock, eventually resulting in a great installation even if we do say so ourselves. In this set we used the Sonifex S0v2 mixer. This durable mixer has a built-in soundcard which makes it possible to record audio onto your computer and play directly out to the mixer, using only one cable to do so.
The mixer was combined with a Dell All-In-On machine: a monitor with built-in computer. This compact solution is especially well suited for this set since everything eventually had to be shipped.
Also suited for the shipment is the carefully selected lightweight synthetic flightcase for the 19" equipment. Whilst still providing the same sturdiness as a regular flightcase, it is also a lot lighter. Inside the case we find, among other things, the Sonifex DHY-04GS gsm-fork. With this mobile phone fork, a guest can enter the recording/broadcast at any moment.
