Trans World Radio (TWR), an international Christian radio organisation, came to Triple Audio with a slightly different request than usual. For their experience centre, Missie & Media, in Barneveld, they were looking for a partner who could develop an audio game designed by themselves. That sounded like a perfect challenge to us!
"We are a global broadcast organisation that focuses on the use of media. In our experience centre Missie & Media you can see, read and hear what we do. There are a lot of games, but a game to use your own voice was still missing."
TWR mentions having several suppliers but because of the positive experience with Triple Audio of one of the employees, it was decided to pitch this concept and idea to Triple Audio.
"Creating games is not something Triple Audio does on a daily basis. But they were up for the challenge because audio is what makes them happy."
The audio game allows you to record your own radio fragment. You choose one of three themes and are presented with a text to record. These choices are made on a Dell Optiplex All-in-One system. The user interface is provided through an HTML5 user panel created with Axia Pathfinder Core PRO.
Located next to the Dell system is a Shure MV7 USB microphone that provides voice processing for the recorded bulletin and a headphone jack that eliminates the need for a separate audio interface.
When a user records a bulletin, GML-NewsREC gets to work in the background. An in- and outro are added to the fragment. Then, using software developed by Triple Audio, the fragment is sent to a cloud application, which takes care of sending emails to the users.
Naturally, whatever is new in the experience centre will be noticed by the public. The extra game feature that comes with the audio game is a wonderful addition for Missie & Media. Because the centre was open during the May vacations as well, it has already been played many times.
Visitors let us know that is a true experience, you step into a studio and let your voice be heard. The game fortunately gives you the chance to re-do if you are not satisfied or were a bit nervous the first time around before it is sent to your own email address. There isn't a favourite yet among the themes, which tells us that there is one for every taste.
TWR has enjoyed working with Triple Audio.
"Triple Audio managed to translate even this idea into the right output. There are short lines of communication and the remote service is very convenient to assist in case of problems or questions."
We look back on a fun and educational project that many more people are going to enjoy!
