Fidelio Radio has been using the Axia iQ for some months now. In this article you can read what kind of product this is and why Fidelio Radio chose this product.
Fidelio Radio, based in Driebergen, is an oldies radio station and broadcasts via three media; online, DAB+ and medium wave (LPAM). At Fidelio Radio there are ten people working together with the same passion: making a radio program.
Why the iQ?
Rob van der Sluis, the man behind Fidelio Radio, explains: ‘We wanted to get rid
of our analog system and soon ended up with the well-known broadcast brands. We had to keep our budget in mind and the Acia iQ was a
perfect fit.’
‘Because we have a smaller setup, the 8-fader module of the Axia iQ is more than enough for Fidelio Radio. The big advantage of the Axia iQ is that the setup of the channels can easily be changed. You can create multiple profiles, which makes the 8-fader module worth a lot more.’
During the search for the best mixing console, Rob has had a demonstration with one of the Triple Audio engineers. Rob: ‘You can find a
lot of information on the internet, but the look and feel is as important 😉’.
Experiences
At this moment the Axia iQ has been used for two months. ‘Our first experiences
are fine! We didn’t use all the possibilities of the product yet, but until now the product matches al our expectations.’ As said by
Rob.
For Fidelio Radio the iQ is the first step towards Audio over IP. 'Therefore it is nice to have a supplier, in this case distributor, with easy access. If we need any assistance, we just call them.'
