Second iQ for Vechtdal FM

Vechtdal FM, the local radio station for Dalfsen, Ommen and Niewleusen, celbrated its 30-year anniversary in March. For all these years, the station has been run solely by volunteers. In 2018 Vechtdal FM came to Triple Audio for an Axia iQ mixer, after feeling content with the service back then they fount their way back to Triple Audio with a new request.

First digital studio, Audio over IP

"In 2018 we came to you for an Axia iQ mixer with matching QOR.32. We have now been using it for some time, with total satisfaction of our programme makers and technicians." Jaap Snijder, technician at Vechtdal FM,  has told us that the volunteers are now completely familiar with the Axia iQ.

The programming of Vechtdal FM includes continuous live shows. The deejays like to prepare their show but, this is difficult when the studio is still occupied. Time to expand! The Axia iQ in the existing studio was a winner, and the volunteers know how it works, this made the choice for the new studio easy. the Axia iQ again forms the basis of the studio, keeping the hardware in both studio to be the same.

All of the equipment is installed in a 19-inch flightcase by the volunteers from Vechtdal FM themselves. This makes the studio flexible; live broadcasts on locations are now possible. The studio is for example being used at exhibitions, events and parties. When Vechtdal FM was celebrating its 30-year anniversary a live broadcast was made at the party location using their new setup.

When you use a studio at different locations, you would like to have to connect cables as little as possible. This studio provides just that, as it operates entirely through Audio over IP. For example, it uses Axia IP-audio drivers, replacing the need for a hardware soundcard. It connects different audio sources through AoIP.

At 'Vintage Groove' in Nieuwleusen the old and new were in direct contact. Between all the vinyl records stood the new digital studio of Vechtdal FM, set to make a live broadcast of the event. For this occasion, an old turntable was connected to the mixer which poses no problem for the iQ as it can receive digital as well as analogue signals.
